- Treatment of hypertension : preparations of DENDRANTHEMA were used in treating 46 patients with essential hypertension and /or atherosclerosis within one week such as symptoms as headache ,dizziness ,insomnia began to improve and 35 of subjects had normal blood pressure .Over the next 10-30 days ,the remaining subjects showed varying degrees of improvement.
PAEONIA SUFFRUTICOSA : Acrid , Bitter , cool.

- Cardiovascular effect: Intravenous injection of a water-based preparation of PAEONIA lowered blood pressure in anesthetized dogs cats and rats. Both paeonol-containing and paeonol free preparations had this effect was given orally to dogs and rats with artificially induced hypertension, there was a gradual reduction in blood pressure.
